Get your kids to clean their rooms with acrobatic comedy show, Chores!

Chores is the story of two typical young rascal boys playing in their messy bedroom. Suddenly, their mother's alarming screams rattle the boys back into acrobatic action. A generous serve of comedy and chaotic acrobatics accompanies every attempt at cleaning their room and doing their chores. This mess of chaos and comedy concludes with a last-minute cleaning spree. The parents are kept at bay and the rewards come flooding in!

Inspired by slapstick legends Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, the side-splitting duo of Chores is coming your way. Two excitable brothers, are definitely, probably, maybe, just about to, almost, at some stage, going to do the chores their mother has asked them to do...

Australia’s favourite trash glamour disco circus is coming Mackay! Please note: This is an 18+ event.

Cult cabaret hooligans and mischief-makers Briefs present a wild romp of disco dancing, circus, variety, and burlesque featuring a hand-picked selection of guests from across the world of queer cabaret. Expect a pumping soundtrack with your favourite dance floor smashes and ridiculous performances from the Briefs boys plus a cavalcade of hand-selected guest cabaret and circus artists.

Briefs pays homage to the traditions of circus, the extremities of physical theatre, the artistry of drag, the guts of burlesque, the imagery of theatre, the debauchery of speakeasies and the showmanship of cabaret. The company uses the circus and variety format as a vehicle for engaging audiences, challenging stereotypes, and exploring notions of gender, sexual orientation, race and politics.

WARNINGS: Strobe lighting, coarse language, smoke, nudity and adult themes. 18+. Photography and filming prohibited.

At the age of seven in her home town of Mackay, Karen Jacobsen saw Olivia Newton-John on television and knew what she wanted to do with her life. She wanted to become a professional singer and move to America.

Karen returns to Mackay to premiere a musical memoir of that journey. Solo at the grand piano, and part concert, part motivational experience, “Mackay to Manhattan” follows the story of a small town girl with big dreams who believes “It’s Never Too Late To Recalculate” to get to your destination in life.

Along the way Karen’s speaking voice ended up in over a billion GPS devices and as the original Australian voice of Siri in iPhones. Be ready to be entertained, inspired and hear the “only voice men will take directions from” in this very special event.

Enjoy full table service with a choice of 3 delicious brunch meals to choose from plus tea and coffee included in your ticket - thanks to our talented chefs at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre.
