What is Harvest?
Harvest is a comprehensive capacity building program which seeks to strengthen the network of performing arts industry practitioners in the Mackay and surrounding regions.
Founded in 2022 with the inaugural Music Development Program, Harvest connected live music artists with industry professionals and workshopped identified upskill opportunities over six weeks.
In 2025, Harvest is returning with its next instalment, Playwright to Stage Light. Set to take place over 10 months (with consideration for extension), this new instalment of Harvest will focus on supporting interested artists in the Mackay Region to develop original playwrights, with the potential to have these works adapted for stage. The project aims to include nationally recognised artists and mentors to guide participants through this incredible opportunity.
Harvest is now seeking Expressions of Interest from Artists in the Mackay Region. Selected candidates will be required to attend monthly meetings and workshops, taking place on the second Thursday of each month at varying times.
Selected candidates will have the option to work as part of the Harvest collective, creating one original work as part of a team; or, to work independently to complete scheduled outcomes.

When will I discover if my EOI is successful?
Projected start for Harvest: From Playwright to Stage Light is February 2025. EOI’s will be invited to elaborate on their expression, to ensure the program will deliver on professional development requirements. Official applications to participate in this program will open at the beginning of 2025.
