Né: Roi - A ballet in three acts

Thursday, July 26, 2018, 7.30pm
MECC Auditorium

Join us for the World Premiere of three Acts of the Né: Roi ballet, which has been created in honour of the legacy of Dame Margot Fonteyn and will tour the world after its premiere in Mackay, Australia.

This is a world-class ballet and combines local musical talent with international dancing stars. It features a music score written by our very own local composer David Pyke and stars internationally-renowned ballet dancers, including Dancer Noble Rainer Krenstetter of the Miami Ballet and Prima Ballerina Assoluta Lucette Aldous AC (who returns to the stage for this production). They will lead a cast of hand-selected top ballet academy students from Australia, including local students from Mackay, as well as New Zealand.

For the Australian production, 20 sections of orchestral ballet music have been organised by Director/Choreographer Ken Ludden, Director of The Margot Fonteyn Academy of Ballet (NY) with Maestro Alexander Walker from the Royal Academy of Music (London).
